Music and Culture

My love of music and fascination with culture were the passions that originally inspired me to write. As an aging millennial, I was old enough to attend college in the golden era of music blogs, and I followed suit with the (now-somewhat regrettably named) Don’t Hype My Swag on Tumblr.

From 2015 to 2017, a friend of mine and I launched ThirstyxMiserable.com, a now-defunct blog that saw us interviewing artists, reviewing concerts, and fielding contributions from a range of writers. There, I mused about Jaden Smith’s philosophy, and parsed song lyrics to analyze what Scott Stapp managed a baseball team — years before the Rangers let Creed take them higher to a world series.

Though I’m not as active of a music writer as I’d like to be today, I hope to be getting back to it soon (stay tuned). For now, I’m always happy to hear about what you’ve been listening to.
